Suminagashi Marble Paper

I bought these marbling inks from Dick Blick art supply.  I was amazed by how independent and responsible the students were with this project.  Each one of them was successful, and these inks have lasted me so long that I'm not as worried about the kids "wasting" it as I would be otherwise.

Treasure Map Table Cloth

One of my favorite projects is drawing treasure maps.  Here I used the idea to make a table cloth.

Quilling With Scrapbook Paper

There are many, many quilling projects online.  Most of them suggest using a tool, and most of them would be too hard for my students.  I decided to cut strips out of double sided scrapbook paper.  The students curled up the paper by hand.  I made a few spirals ahead of time for them because I wanted them to spend most of their time squishing and arranging the them.  I love the effect of the beautiful paper.  Even simple projects turn out stunning.  I tell the students that it's a lot of work, but it's worth it!

Giant Origami

I just finished teaching a class on origami and paper craft.  As inspiration, I showed off both giant and miniature origami creations!

There are lots of origami instructions online.  One of my favorite sites is the Origami Resource.
